Tripods: What Makes Them Different?
Did you know that your Surveying Tripod’s material matters?
Not all tripods are created equal!
Choosing the right material can significantly alter your surveying experience & impact the accuracy of the data being captured.
Here’s a quick breakdown:
• Wood 🌳: Classic choice known for stability and low thermal expansion. Ideal for traditional setups and uneven terrain. Absorbs vibration from vehicles or construction equipment allowing for accurate results.
• Aluminium ✈️: Lightweight and budget-friendly, perfect for frequent transport and quick setups. High thermal expansion rate when exposed to the sun, but they are durable and easy to carry.
• Fiberglass 💪: Combines durability and weather resistance, making it suitable for harsh conditions and long-term use. Handles high humidity & moisture and has lower chances for corrosion.
Which material is best for YOU? Consider your needs and priorities:
• Stability: Wood
• Portability: Aluminum
• Durability: Fiberglass
• Budget: Aluminum
